NS 5 is an integrated information network that addresses every element of a fleet manager's day to day business functions, and the only software product for the Maritime Industry on the market that is supported by a Class Society. In fact, NS 5 was developed by ABS Nautical Systems, a subsidiary of the American Bureau of Shipping.
NS 5 is a relational database currently with a standard package built on a MySQL ® platform. MySQL ® is an open source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) that uses Structured Query Language (SQL), the most popular language for adding, accessing, and processing data in a database. The software is currently packaged with a MySQL ® platform, but will also be available on other standard RDBM systems. Please contact ABS NS for more details on other supported database platforms.
