Chemical Stowage Solutions
Module Details:
A complete computerized package that allows chemical carrier operators to perform many integrated functions, including:
- Determining the ports of call
- Accepting cargoes as fixed or "tentative"
- Planning the proposed stowage plan
- Reviewing the compatibility of cargoes on board
- Referencing the history of parcels within designated tanks
- Checking to ensure proper stability
- Ensuring proper tank cleaning regime
- Recording stowages as they actually occurred
SafeNet ChemSTOW is placed both on-board the vessel and in the main office and is connected via the ship's standard communication method. By having up-to-date data in both places, the parties can work together to optimize the operation of the vessel.
Ship owners and operators will benefit from ABS SafeNet ChemSTOW:
- Decreases likelihood of acceptable cargoes being declined and revenue missed
- Reduces time to evaluate stowage of cargoes in the following areas:
- Acceptability with respect to the Certificate of Fitness
- Reactivity with other cargoes
- Heat from adjacent cargoes
- Cargo coating compatibility - Increases efficiency of planning and stowing cargoes
- Aids in avoiding overstowage of cargoes in future ports
- Lowers communication costs to vessels
- Reduces the likelihood of improper carriage of chemicals
- Reduces the cycle time for billing of parcels carried
- Produces comprehensive load reports that will aid crew in properly stowing cargo
- Determines intact and damaged stability automatically as cargoes are planned and/or loaded, thus eliminating the need for a separate loading computer
- Reduces the risk of damaging a cargo by previous cargoes or improper tank cleaning procedures
