ABS NS Press Releases
ABS Nautical Systems to provide new vetting module for tanker operators
3 October 2007
Nautical Systems is developing functionality in the Maintenance & Repair module to improve the recording of maintenance history across machinery whose physical location in the fleet may change over time, either due to servicing, contractor requirements, or other needs specific to the operating environment.
Labeled as 'Serialized Items', this new feature, planned for introduction in version 5.4.0, will identify machinery items by their serial numbers and provide the ability to install, uninstall, and re-install the machinery into locations across the fleet throughout its lifecycle, while maintaining the maintenance history for the item across all locations.
We are inviting members of our User Community to attend a 2 day session in May to assist in the designing of the new functionality. The meeting will consist of a Requirements Definition and Review of existing design drafts already prepared by Nautical Systems.
Requirements Definition
Due to the wide range of industry segments that will benefit from this
enhancement, it is critical that we obtain a detailed understanding of our
clients' requirements in this area. The meeting will provide a brief
introduction into the subject, and allow for discussion time where each
client can identify their particular needs for the functionality.
Design Review
Nautical Systems has prepared a draft design that we will present to
attendees for comments and suggestions. This review will provide us with
specific details concerning our clients' needs, allowing us to implement
the new functionality in a manner that will meet the requirements of our
user community.
To reserve a space:
Please email jbewley@abs-ns.com. There is no charge from NS to attend
this event, however all expenses will be on your own account.
