Web Seminars offered to view new functionality in v5.3.0

ABS Nautical Systems announces the latest release of the NS 5 Fleet Management Software. Version 5.3.0, now available for all clients, introduces over 300 new features and enhancements.
NS will be offering a series of Web Seminars during the week of March 13 th to introduce the new features. Sessions will be limited to 15 persons each, additional sessions may be scheduled based on demand.

Maintenance & Repair / Purchasing & Inventory
Tuesday, March 13 th from 10:00am – 11:00am CST
This seminar will demonstrate some of the new functionality available in the NS 5 Maintenance & Purchasing modules, including:
- A Dry Dock Administration facility incorporated into the Maintenance & Repair module that generates dry dock specifications, prepares and compares bid solicitations, manages work assignments, and includes project cost accounting.
- New Reliability-Centered Maintenance tools allow users to document equipment failure modes and causes on the NS 5 work order. Additionally, an import format and sample file of ASTM standards is available for loading into NS 5.
- A multi-leg purchasing interface allowing clients to select various data transfer points between the NS 5 and a corporate financial system is now available.
Crew Payroll
Thursday, March 15 th from 10:00 – 11:00am CST
This seminar will demonstrate some of the new functionality available in the NS 5 Crew Payroll module, including:
- A comprehensive Master’s General Accounting facility, which documents all cash received and paid out of the Master’s safe for any number of transactions including repairs, bonded stores, provisions, etc. Additionally, the system provides automatic calculation of exchange rate differential showing currency gains and losses.
- Back Pay functionality simplifies pay increases due to employees following contract negotiations that may be effective retro-actively. By identifying the new and old labor contracts and the valid % increase, the NS 5 system will auto-generate seaman vouchers.
