Fugro Gulf Inc. Selects ABS NS SafeNet Fleet Management Software

(Houston, TX---) Fugro Gulf Inc., a leader in the provision of offshore geotechnical services, has contracted with ABS Nautical Systems for seven modules from their suite of advanced SafeNet fleet management system software. Fugro Gulf's contracted ship management company, New Offshore Inc., Morgan City, LA, will use the modules and manage vessel operational activities on behalf of Fugro Gulf Inc.
Fugro Gulf Inc. has contracted for the Maintenance & Repair, Purchasing & Inventory Control, Replication Manager & Financial Reporting, ISM/STCW Compliance and Document Management modules of ABS NS SafeNet. They will also use the Vessel Drawings module.
A key factor in Fugro Gulf's selection was SafeNet's simplified approach to systems administration. "The power of SafeNet's Replication Manager opened up new ways for them to improve operational efficiencies," said ABS NS Business Development Manager, Keith Eargle. The Replication Manager module allows the user to synchronize data quickly and easily between all locations using the SafeNet software, including vessels, offices, warehouses and shipyards. Using Replication Manager, Fugro's offshore vessels’ databases can be linked to the company's central database. "Having the ability to monitor what is going on with assets half way around the world is what global offshore operators like Fugro want," added Eargle.
ABS NS SafeNet is one of the leading fleet management software packages available to the marine and offshore industries. It offers a fully integrated, modular approach to managing all the principal operational expenses associated with a vessel or offshore rig, ranging from crew payroll to purchasing, to maintenance and repair. SafeNet is currently installed aboard several thousand vessels ranging from tug boats to vlccs.
