Liberty Maritime Corporation Selects ABS-NS SafeNet Fleet Management Software
April 29, 2002
New York based Liberty Maritime Corporation, which operates a fleet of seven bulk carriers, has extended its commitment to ABS Nautical Systems fleet management software by purchasing multiple licenses for its superintendents to install the software on their laptops thus making the modules readily accessible and avoiding costly remote log-in or dial up connections.
Liberty Maritime Corporation uses the Maintenance & Repair, Purchasing & Inventory Control, Financial Reporting and Replication Manager modules of ABS-NS SafeNet. Installing a "superintendent site" is one of the ways clients expand their systems’ capabilities, says ABS NS Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Evan Michaelides.
"The ‘superintendent site’ installed on my laptop allows me to support the vessels remotely, wherever I am in the world without having to call the office," says Joe Costanza, Port Engineer, Liberty Maritime Corporation. "My laptop is updated with all the changes in the fleet and in the office. It truly allows me the freedom to move among the various shipyards, locations and vessels."
ABS-NS SafeNet is one of the leading fleet management software packages available to the marine and offshore industries. It offers a fully integrated, modular approach to managing all the principal operational expenses associated with a vessel or offshore rig, ranging from crew payroll to purchasing, to maintenance and repair. SafeNet is currently installed aboard several thousand vessels ranging from tug boats to vlccs.
