Quality & Compliance User Committee Group in Houston, April 18 & 19

During the 2006 User Conference in San Francisco, ABS Nautical Systems committed to having small committee meetings throughout 2007 to focus on the reporting capabilities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the core NS 5 modules.

NS is pleased to announce the first of these sessions on April 18th & 19th at our offices in Houston focusing on the Quality & Compliance (Q&C) module. As with committee meetings in the past, this will be a small focus group of 12 clients from various industries. Topics to be discussed will include:

Reporting Capabilities in the Quality & Compliance Module This will include identifying common KPIs our clients are seeking to measure through the use of the Q&C module. Additionally, we will seek to identify the best format for NS to provide KPI data , for example, through built in reports, data exports, etc.

Document Manager
NS has committed to the development of a new Document Management tool that provides some interfacing with our Quality & Compliance modules. We would like to use this session to gather input from our users regarding key requirements relating to document management, and to share some of our preliminary ideas.

Root Cause Analysis
NS 5 currently provides the functionality to document user-defined root causes against corrective action reports. However, with the initiation of regulations such as TMSA (Tanker Management & Self Assessment), some NS clients are requesting that this functionality be extended to incorporate a decision tree providing a structured and consistent method of carrying out root cause analysis. It is possible that this could be achieved utilizing the same tools and techniques provided by MaRCAT, the ABS Root Cause Anaylsis software product. NS is seeking user feedback regarding the best development options for this tool.
