Jack Kitchura
President and Chief Operating Officer
Jack Kitchura is the President, Chief Operating Officer and a Director of ABS-Nautical Systems LLC since the company was formed in 1998. He served in the Navy from 1966-1970 deploying with the Mobile Riverine Force in the late 60's receiving numerous combat decorations and an honorable discharge. After separation Kitchura began a career in the global shipping industry as Commercial Manager for a dry bulk cargo operator "Retla Steamship". Concurrently he attended California State University, Long Beach in the evenings earning a bachelors degree with honors 1975.
Shortly after graduation Kitchura was transferred to Japan with responsibilities covering the commercial and operational management of Retla's Asian operations. Subsequently he held Senior Executive positions in London and in New York before returning to California in 1978. In the late 70's he joined and ran "Matson Lines" Southern California International agencies division.
In 1981, Mr. Kitchura moved to Philadelphia to join "Sun Refining and Marketing Company" as general Manager of Sun's worldwide chartering and operations division. In the Mid 90's he once again transferred overseas and moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he set up, and as General Manager ran, the commercial shipping company, "Aurora Tankers" and a technical operating company, "Wawasan Bulk Shipping", both subsidiary companies of the Singapore based "IMC Pan Asian Alliance Group".
Mr. Kitchura has held numerous industry commitee positions and is currently an associate member of the International Tanker Owners Association, Intercargo and the Offshore Marine Service Association.
Personal interests range broadly between Art, Physical Conditioning, Travel, Shooting Sports, Motorcycling and Ranching.
